Temazcal in the highlands of Jalisco

A steam ceremony inherited from the peoples of Mesoamerica, at the heart of the Finca.

What is a temazcal?

The temazcal is a traditional Mexican steam bath. Its name comes from Nahuatl and means “house of steam”.

Inside a closed structure, water and herbs are poured over hot stones. The steam, the heat and the dark invite you to let go, to breathe and to come back to your body. A guide leads the ceremony with songs and pauses.

One of the Finca's most meaningful spaces: a traditional heat and steam lodge for a deep physical, emotional and spiritual cleanse. For groups looking for a ceremonial activity, retreats that work with ancestral practices, or anyone who wants a restoring experience.

Outside, cold-water tubs complete the session with a change of temperature.

At the Finca the temazcal is part of a retreat, an event or a group experience. Message us for upcoming dates.
